Congratulations Seth Bingham on earning your Shodan rank on October 25th 2014!
Shodan (初段) is the beginning black belt rank and literally translated means "beginning degree". There is still lots to learn after attaining this rank. Seth has been training with Tiger's Den Dojo since 2006, and has been a dedicated student. Mr. Bingham is currently in his senior year at Union College and is scheduled to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications in December of this year. We are proud to have this new black belt member at our school and wish him well on his martial arts and personal path in life.

At the Tiger's Den Dojo we ask our students to write down some thoughts to share after their shodan test. Here are Seth's words:
Words simply cannot express how life changing my time at the Tigers Den Dojo has been. When I was younger, I was a very timid child who lacked confidence and didn’t have many friends. To be honest, I was scared of the world. Then I found the Tigers Den Dojo and it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Everything about it felt right, the content was amazing, the people were friendly, the atmosphere was open, and I could be myself. After just one class, I was hooked. Eight years later I can say without a shadow of a doubt that joining the Tigers Den Dojo was one of the best decisions of my life. I have traveled across the country to train with the best of the best and nothing compares. The physical, mental, and survival skills taught are above and beyond anything else I have ever experienced. Words simply cannot do justice to the real life application and effectiveness of this training. Over my eight years at the Tigers Den Dojo I have met some really phenomenal people. I would like to thank all of you for ongoing support, guidance, and above all else friendship during my training. You have made these last eight years some of the best in my life and I can’t wait for eight more. Train hard, believe in yourself, and never give up. -Seth Bingham
