The Tigers Den Dojo was established in April of 2004 with the merger
of a POLICE Sergeant and a SHOTOKAN Black Belt Instructor, wanting
to make a difference in the lives of children as they become young adults.
We at the Tigers Den Dojo understand what children face in today's society
with the ever growing problems with drugs and crime. We understand
what problems children face at school with Bully's and peer pressure,
and for these reason this is why we have made this merger such a success.
In January of 2008, we took on a new partner (Jonathan Minton) who was one
of our leading students. We opened a new larger facility in North Wilkesboro
and have much more to offer as we grow. Jonathan is an expert with many
different types of Martial arts weapons and we have added some weapons training
which the kids love. Our new facility will have a childrens class and an adult class.
We have the childrens room complete and will hopefully have the adult classroom
completed this year.
Not only do we teach the art of SHOTOKAN karate,
We teach crime prevention.
No one in Wilkes County wants to have to face the fact that gangs and big city
crime can reach Wilkes. Its here and its and its getting worse all the time. We
want every child to be aware of this problem and be prepared to deal with the
pressures to join gangs and feel comfortable with being able to say NO !!!!
Dont let your child be a statistic
Every student must earn each belt. This is what we call ............
" Earning you'r stripes."
